Peter Tunstill – (Director and Head of the Litigation Department) is based at the Hertford Office. Peter specialises in Commercial Litigation, Commercial Contract and Landlord and Tenant work. As deputy Sheriff for the County, Peter also supervises all of the High Court Writs that are sent to the Sheriffs officers for enforcement. Peter was admitted as a Solicitor in 1972.

John Appleton – (Director and Head of Residential Conveyancing) is the Director in Charge of the Enfield office. Dealing mainly with residential property work, he supervises a large team of conveyancers which has developed a reputation for excellent service to clients. He was admitted as a Solicitor in November 1989, and has spent most of his time since then with Breeze and Wyles Solicitors LLP, save for a short sabbatical travelling the globe.

Murray Fraser – (Director and Head of Lender Services) concentrates on the delivery of volume services to mortgage lenders and other institutional clients. He was responsible for the creation of our trading arm breezeplus which provides leading edge legal support through the use of technology and in particular case management reporting and tracking services. Murray graduated from Southampton University in 1989 and was admitted as a solicitor in 1992. He became a Partner at the old firm of Breeze and Wyles in 1995 and is now the Director in charge of the Bishops Stortford office. Murray was admitted as a Notary Public in 2001.

Brendan O’Brien – (Director and Head of Debt and Arrears Management) specialises in providing volume debt collection, arrears management and mortgage litigation services to financial institutions and commercial clients. He provides this service through the vehicle of our trading arm breezeplus, which utilises leading edge case management, reporting and tracking systems to provide hi-tech legal support. Brendan graduated from Imperial College London in 1990 (with a degree in Theoretical Physics) and University of London in 1995 (with a degree in Law) and was admitted a solicitor in 1998. He is based in the Bishops Stortford office. He was appointed a Partner in the old firm of Breeze and Wyles in October 2000. With his science background Brendan has also developed a niche practice in advising on Intellectual Property matters.

Jane Dismore – (Director and Head of Employment Law Services) was admitted as a Solicitor in October 1995 and became a Partner in the old firm of Breeze and Wyles in October 2000. Jane is based at the Hertford Office and deals mainly with employment law work of both a contentious and non-contentious nature. She also provides general litigation support services. Jane has written articles for and been published in The Times.

Olive McCarthy – (Director and Head of Matrimonial) completed a BA Honours in Social Sciences, majoring in law at the University of Hertfordshire, following which, she attended the London College of Law. Olive joined the firm in 2000, specialising in Family law and was appointed as a Partner and Head of the Family Law Department in the old firm in 2004. She is a member of the Resolution and has had panel accreditation with the Law Society Family Law Panel since 2003. Olive is an active member of the East Herts Domestic Violence Forum and is also the honorary legal representative for the Citizens Advice Bureau for Broxbourne, Hertford and Ware.

Malina Gupta (Director) joined Breeze and Wyles Solicitors LLP as a trainee Solicitor in 2000 after having graduated from Middlesex University and attending at the London College of Law. Malina was admitted as a Solicitor in 2002 and has since managed the further advance department based at the Bishops Stortford office. She continues to be involved with the development of the teams and workflows for the supply of volume legal services to mortgage lenders. Malina became a Partner in the old firm of Breeze and Wyles in 2006.

Martyn Bateman – (Practice Manager) Martyn has been Practice Manager at the firm since the start of 2000 and has overseen the substantial growth of the firm since then.  His early career was in the Court Service serving in Crown and County Courts throughout the Midlands before a short spell as a Business Management consultant.  Martyn’s responsibilities range from planning for the future of the business to day-to-day administration.  He is the Head of the Administration Department which deals with the Firm’s premises, people, IT systems and accounts, he is also the Firm’s Money Laundering Reporting Officer.

Philip Walter – (Accounts Manager) joined the firm in 1969 after spending three years in banking and finance. He has been closely involved with the growth of the firm over four decades and heads the Accounts Department which consists of eight cashiers. His team provides all accounting services for the directors and staff and Philip also deals with a number of financial administrative functions. He is an active member of a local Rotary club and is involved in various charity work including being local treasurer of a national charity.
